Frequently Asked Questions
I have a BA (Hons) Degree in Photography, with extensive knowledge and experience in lighting, digital photography and editing. I also have a PGCE qualification and teach photography and Photoshop in an evening at Priestley College in Warrington.
I have two Sony A7R DSLR cameras and two Sony A350 DSLR cameras. I carry these with me for every job.
I use my main A7R Sony camera for photographing all my subjects and the others I have as backups. I have two 18-70mm zoom lenses, a telephoto zoom lens 70-270mm and a 50 mm prime lens. These lenses have different uses, ensuring maximum quality from group and scene shots, to close up shots of my subject/s. My telephoto zoom lens will allow me to photograph distant and close up shots of my subjects without having to change lenses frequently (avoiding wasting precious time) and intruding on your special day/occasion. My prime lens is amazing for portraits with a stunning clarity and allowing extra light in the frame on dull lighting conditions. The F1.4 maximum aperture prime lens is designed to enhance dimensionality from a defocusing effect. My new wide angle lens will allow me to capture all guests in large group shots as well as the beautiful surroundings.
I have a Godox TT350s flash and MagMod flash kit for both inside and outside use for additional lighting along with my large reflector. My flash lighting kit distributes light very evenly and widely with minimal harsh shadowing. I also have a portable studio, which consists of Neewer 900W Strobe Studio Flash Light Kit including gel lighting and various lighting heads (electric equipment for indoor use only) and white and black backdrop, and supporting frames. Other materials can be used and setup using the supporting frames therefore you don’t have to stick to the usual plain portrait background.
I have invested in some brand new gorgeous newborn and portrait props and backdrops.
Of course :)! Once you have received your USB of all edited images, you will be asked to choose a number of photographs (based on the amount of album pages) and provide me with a list of these so I can create your personalised album. If I do not receive a list of specific photographs you want in your album within 1 month of you receiving your photos on USB, I will select the images for you. This is due to my workload and needing to stick to this timescale.
For a portrait shoot and special occasions, you should normally expect to receive your photographs 2-3 weeks after the session/event. For a wedding, you should normally expect to receive your photographs 6-8 weeks after the event. The timescales for canvases, albums, prints, etc (included in your package or added to your package) to be produced, will depend on when you inform me of which photographs you would like. Once you have informed me of this, I will discuss these further timescales with you.
I have set packages however I can create you a bespoke package to meet your individual needs. If you wish to add extra products to any of my set packages, for example, an extra album, photo or canvas, these can be done at extra costs. Please contact me to discuss prices as I have an itemised price list available.
Not at all! I will confirm exact costs based on your individual needs and budget at your initial consultation. I ask all clients to complete a photography agreement to confirm you are happy with the price quoted before securing any photography date in my diary. If you do require additional products or time, then this will be added onto the package price. Any editing of personal features will also be charged for based on the time it will take (I will work out a cost and confirm this with you before any additional editing takes place).
Travel costs will be included in the price within a 20 mile radius of Leyland. If outside this radius then a small charge will be incurred.
